Hunter Athletics Carnival

Permission:
Permission for this event will be collected through Dash. This replaces the paper permission notes that students have received in previous years. School sports coordinators are responsible for distributing notes to successful students. The permission note will have a QR code link to Dash for parents to provide permission.
Cost:
$5 for students and spectators payable in cash / EFTPOS on entry to the venue.
What to wear:
- Newcastle City Zone singlets will be provided on the day. Singlets must be returned to Mr McMahon at the end of the day.
- Relay teams must wear school singlets for the relay event.
- Spikes are only allowed in track events where competitors stay in their lanes – 100m, 200m and relays.
What to bring:
A canteen will operate at the carnival and souvenir apparel will be available for sale. Eftpos facilities will be available to make souvenir purchases. Please bring adequate food, refreshments, clothing and sun-protection.
Transport details:
Travel to and from the trial venue is the responsibility of parents/caregivers. While at the venue, students will be under the supervision of the zone team manager – Mr McMahon (New Lambton PS). Please look for the Newcastle City Zone flag.
Selection:
The Hunter team to compete at the NSWPSSA Athletics Championships will be selected and announced following the Hunter Primary Athletics Championships. For information about the state championships visit https://app.education.nsw.gov.au/sport/NSWPSSA
Students must compete at the Hunter Primary Athletics Championships to be eligible for selection in the Hunter team to compete at the state championships.
Additional information:
- Please ensure you have submitted your zone consent form through Dash prior to registrations closing.
- Ensure you go straight to the marshalling area when your event is called. Track events take precedence over field events. Field competitors should inform their officials if called to a track event.
- All competitors and spectators must abide by the Hunter SSA code of conduct located on the Hunter applications and forms page.
- Please ensure you return zone singlets to your team manager before you leave the event.
- The event is held at an all-weather track so it is very unlikely that it will be postponed due to wet weather. In the case of extreme weather events, please visit this website or the Hunter SSA Facebook page to obtain the latest event information.
