Newcastle City Zone Cross Country

Times

School teams need to be at the venue by 9:00am. Competitors will be given instructions about the event, prior to walking the course at 9:15am. Races will commence at approximately 10am with the carnival finishing by approximately 1:00pm.   

Postponement

Postponement due to severe weather will be announced on Newcastle City Zone PSSA Facebook page and website. 

Canteen

The canteen will be unavailable on the day – students must bring a packed lunch. A coffee cart will be available on the day.

Apparel

Newcastle City PSSA Zone apparel will be available. As we are moving to a new supplier later this year, all current Newcastle City Zone PSSA apparel prices have been reduced – all stock must go! CASH ONLY!

Hunter Regional Cross Country

The first 6 students in each race will progress to the Hunter Regional Cross Country. More information can be found here: School Sport Unit: HUN – Primary Cross Country – Championship

Newcastle City PSSA Rules & Regulations

1. Schools may enter up to three competitors per event. Please note that 8/9 years is ONE EVENT and 12/13 years is ONE EVENT.
2. PARENTS MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE ENTRY FORM FOR EACH COMPETITOR AS DIRECTED TO ON THE LETTER TO STUDENTS.
3. Entry fee will be $10 per competitor. Please pay your money to the front office at school. This will not be collected on the day. Schools will be invoiced later.
4. All competitors must wear appropriate shoes (no spikes). Failure to wear shoes will lead to disqualification.
5. No competitors may receive assistance or refreshments during the race, except in the case of asthma puffers.
6. Deliberate pushing or tripping is NOT allowed.
7. Spectators are to keep OFF the track.
8. Protests are to be made to the Convenor within 10 mins of completion of an event by the accompanying teacher.
