Hunter Football Trials – Boys

Entry information

• Entry for zone teams selected from zone trials only. Playing format will be 9 v 9.
• Zone team managers please email your typed zone team entry form (DOCX 62KB) 2 weeks prior to the trial date to the Hunter convener – refer to contacts heading below.
• The purpose of the trial is to select a team to represent the Hunter region at the NSWPSSA Boys Football Championships. Nominated students must be willing to travel and compete at the championships – refer to NSWPSSA web page. Select either find events or view calendar and use the filter tool to refine your search.
• Zone team managers please collect signed zone consent forms from your zone team players, have them with you at the trial and keep them for your records. Students can obtain a zone consent form from their school sports coordinator. Please also collect the trial levy from your team players and submit the total amount to the Hunter convener at the trial.

Format of trial

• Two pools of 4 or 5 zone teams will play round robin matches during the day.
• Zone team managers and Hunter manager and coach will select a squad from players in each pool to play in a Possibles v Probables game to be held at a later date.
• Selection is based on overall performance throughout the day with the final decision resting with the regional manager.
• Shadows/Reserves are chosen but not announced on the day.

Information for students attending the trial

• Students must submit a signed zone consent form, available from your school sports coordinator, and entry fee to your zone team manager on arrival at the trial.
• On the day of the trial please report to your zone team manager by 8:30am.
• Zone teams must wear numbered shirts in their zone colours.
• Canteen facilities will be available on the day.
• Please bring a water bottle, adequate food and sun protection.
• Any postponement will be announced on the Hunter SSA Facebook page and this website.
• All players and spectators must abide by the Hunter SSA code of conduct located on the Hunter applications and forms page.

Cost

$10 levy per student payable in cash to zone team manager on arrival at the trial. Levy covers cost of venue hire and first aid personnel.
