Hunter Touch Trials – Boys and Girls

Date
Mon Jun 22, 2026
Time
8:45 am - 2:30 pm
Location
Tomaree Sports Complex
Salamander Way, Nelson Bay

Entry information

  • The trial is open to zone teams only. Zones select the teams of students from their zone to attend the trials. A maximum of 10-12 senior boys and 10-12 senior girls per zone may be entered. It would be preferable that these students have experience competing in a high level touch football competition.
  • Zone conveners, please complete the zone team entry form (DOCX 62KB) and email it 2 weeks prior to the trial date to the relevant Hunter coach – refer to contacts heading below. This will ensure that everyone at the trial will be allocated a playing number.
  • Players should only trial if they are willing to travel and compete at the relevant NSWPSSA Touch Football Championships – refer to NSWPSSA web page. To locate the event page select either find events or view calendar and use the filter tool to refine your search.
  • Zones will need to send an accompanying teacher to supervise their zone team. Casual relief will be covered by zones, not Hunter SSA.
  • Zone supervising teachers please collect signed zone consent forms from your zone team players, have them with you at the trial and give them to the zone convener for record keeping. Please also collect the trial levy from your team players and submit the total amount to the relevant Hunter coach at the trial. Students can obtain the zone consent form from their school sports coordinator.

Format of trial

  • Students will participate in warm up and skills sessions and a series of round games.
  • A selection of students will then be invited to participate in a final probables v possibles match.
  • The final regional teams will be selected based on overall performances on the day.
  • Reserves/shadow players are chosen but not announced on the day.
